Starlink promises to transform the way rural areas connect to the internet with speeds of up to 400Mbps download and 20mbps+ upload. Running a business from home or from any rural location will now be possible, even in the most remote area even in the most remote areas of Somerset like Chard, Ilminster, Glastonbury, Wellington, Taunton and Bridgwater, Strete, Glastonbury, Exmoor or The Mendips.

Due to the low-latency of a Starlink connection it is suitable for video calling systems like Zoom and FaceTime. It also works with WhatsApp, mobile WiFi calling and Digital Voice/VoIP providers. We have now installed over 3000 Starlink systems and have had 100% positive customer satisfaction with the broadband connection.

How our service works:

1. Placing the order – Starlink are now offering a free kit in select areas when purchasing directly from them. Please order your kit online using the button below and then call us with your order reference number so we can get you booked in for the installation.

If you need any help ordering Starlink from their website, please give us a call and one of the team will be more than happy to guide you through the process. As authorised Starlink installers we have dedicated support with the Starlink team at SpaceX.

If you need your Starlink installing more quickly, our engineers do carry limited stock. If we supply your kit, you will pay the Standard kit price of £275.00+VAT (£330.00) but you are not tied into any sort of minimum term and can cancel your plan at anytime.

2. Booking your installation – To book your installation please either call on 01823 802822 or fill in the ‘Request an appointment’ form on this page.

3. Installing your hardware – Starlink requires a clear and open view of the sky, but depending on the orientation and location of your property, we generally find that there is a suitable place to install the equipment. Our standard installation service includes all the brackets, poles and other hardware you need. Some properties may require a specialist flat roof mount, or extra deep brackets if you have a very large roof overhang, which would incur an extra charge.

The current Starlink Gen3 /V4 kit now includes two ethernet ports on the Starlink WiFi router for connecting to the other network devices and extending your WiFi network.

Depending on where your router is located, we may also need to help you install some additional networking equipment to get your internet connection to the right place.

Starlink have now introduced a range of monthly service options. The Residential 100 plan is £40 per month and offers a 100Mbps download speed, Residential 200 is £60 per month – offering 200Mbps download and Residential Max at £80 per month offering up to 400Mbps download. These monthly plans are payable directly to Starlink.

Once your new service is up and running you can cancel the broadband element of any existing fixed line services or your entire phone line rental agreement. Depending on where the dish needs to be mounted a longer cable may be required – the standard cable is 15m, an upgraded 45m cable is available. Subject to availability, we normally carry extra cables on our vans – these are chargeable upgrades.

Starlink has now introduced three tiers of Residential service in Somerset, bringing a more affordable satellite broadband option to rural homes that struggle with slow or unreliable internet connections. They offer great value and choice for areas where fibre and fixed line broadband simply are not available.

This new Residential packages are:

• Residential 100 at £40.00 per month – offers up to 100Mbps download between a 15 to 35Mbps upload. Recommended for households of 1-3 people
• Residential 200 at £60.00 per month – offers up to 200Mbps download between a 15 to 35Mbps upload. Recommended for larger households
• Residential Max at £80.00 per month – offers up to 400Mbps download speeds and 20 to 40Mbps upload. Recommend for households who want the fastest possible connection.

Unlimited data is included, although speeds can vary during busier periods when the network is under higher demand.

The Residential 100 and 200 plans are priced lower than the original Starlink Residential service and new Residential Max service, making them a stronger option for anyone looking to keep costs down while still benefiting from fast and dependable rural broadband.

For remote properties throughout Somerset and the wider Westcountry, Starlink Residential services offer a flexible and cost effective way to stay connected without relying on traditional broadband infrastructure.

Starlink Business now offers an entry level pricing tier at £30.00 per month – this level of service includes 50GB of priority data. The next level of service is £86.00  per month and includes 500GB. 1TB is £156.00 and 2TB is £296.00 per month respectively. These services include priority data and 24/7 support, direct with Starlink. A fixed IP address is available with this service.

For UK business (B2B) customers, monthly charges, such as the Terminal Access Fee and Data Blocks, are invoiced at 0% VAT. VAT is accounted for by the customer under a reverse charge. Starlink hardware prices on on their website are quoted inclusive of VAT.

These services offer tiered pricing compared to the original service, fixed price service, and can offer better value than leased lines or dedicated ethernet circuits. A major benefit of the Starlink system compared to leased lines is that you’re not tied into a long term contract. Once your hardware is purchased it belongs to you and you can cancel the service at anytime. Starlink is so fast that the connection can be shared with multiple buildings or neighbours as long as you have a line-of-sight to the other location. This means that you can share the connection with other buildings at your location or share the initial Starlink hardware purchase and monthly charge with someone else.
